Diretamente da Holanda, The 1-2-5. Formados em 1992, a banda participou de algumas coletâneas (incluindo o Illegitimate Spawn, tributo aos Fuzztones). Lançaram algumas demos, esse LP em 97 e acabaram em 2008. 3 dos 4 integrantes formaram a banda Thee Unexplained, que (ainda) não ouvi, mas se for pelo menos metade da loucura do 125, já é o suficiente pra mercer a audição. Destaque pra Dirty old Man (at the age of 16), uma das melhors músicas do Them, I'm Going Away Now, Won't you Listen e Nothing Can hurt Me

The Miracle Workers - Inside Out

Clássico absoluto, um dos melhores registros disso que carinhosamente chamam de garage revival. Formado em 1982, os Miracle Workers tinham um som na linha dos Chesterfield Kings e dos Lyres, mas se destacavam da grande maioria das bandas pelas canções originais, ao invés de discos cheios de covers e mais covers que todo mundo fazia (Louie Louie? Be a Caveman? oi?). Lançaram 2 eps e esse LP, mas mudanças no som da banda foram ocorrendo, primeiro pra um som mais Stooges / MC5 / afins, posteriormente, pra hair metal farofento (infelizmente).

Absolute classic, one of the best registers of that thing people lovingly call garage reviva. Formed in 1982, the Miracle Workers had a sound similar to the Chesterfield Kings and the Lyres, but had an advantage compared to other bands, most of thr material was composed by original songs, instead of covers that everyone else was doing (Louie Louie? Be a Caveman? Hello?). They released 2 eps and this LP, but sonority changes ocurred, first to a proto punk inspired sound, then, to a lame hair metal stuff (sadly).

Delicuentes - Jovenes Punks de America Latina

Coletânea de bandas da América Latina excelente, apesar da ausência de bandas brasileiras, esse disco ganha de outras coletâneas (na minha opinião) pelo fato da maioria das faixas não puxar muito pra surf music ou psicodelia do começo, apesar de ambos estarem presentes. Destaque pra primeira faixa do disco, Delicuente dos Hitters, que dá nome à coletânea, às faixas dos Yorks (aliás, alguém saberia me informar se existe mais alguma coisa deles?), Los Yaki - Las Estatuas de Marfil, The Speakers - Glendora e Los Ovnis - Ya Se (ah, o tecladinho!). Baixem agora!

Interessante notar que os Beat Boys estão listados como brasileiros no encarte do disco, apesar de serem argentinos (provavelmente, o pessoal que fez não conseguiu achar informações sobre a banda, só o que tinha no selo do disco).

Excelent latin american compilation, despite the lack of brasillian bands (for those who don't know, the blog staff is brasillian). This comp beats others (in my opinion) because most of it's tracks aren't psych or surf oriented, besides the fact that you can find both between the songs. The highlights are the first track, Delicuentes, by los Hitters, who names the comp, all the Yorks tracks (by the way, can someone tell me if there's anything else by them around?), Los Yaki - Las Estatuas de Marfil, The Speakers - Glendora and Los Ovnis - ya Se (manic organ!). Download it now!

Interesting to note that the Beat Boys are marked as brasillian on the back of the album, despite the fact that they're argentins (this is explainable, since the band moved to Brasil to back singer Caetano Veloso and released some EPs and an LP, and since the curators of the comp couldn't find any extra information on the band, they just followed what they read in the disc label).

Thee Milkshakes - Thee Knights of Trashe

Continuando com o trash-tour pour Medway, aqui vai um dos maiores clássicos da história do garage punk na minha humilde opinião, Thee Kngiths of Trashe. O disco já abre com uma das melhores composições do mestre Childish, I'll use Evil, e segue com porrada atrás de porrada, pelos homens com guitarras douradas. Por algum motivo que eu não consegui descobrir qual é, essa pérola nunca foi relançada e cópias físicas parecem ser raras (o único que eu achei no ebay sai pela bagatela de 40 libras), então baixem e se deliciem com essa maravilha esquecida pelo tempo.

Continuing with the Medway trash-tour, here's one of my favourite albums and one of garage punk's biggest classics in my opinion, Thee Knights of Trashe, by the Milkshakes. The album starts with one of master Childish's better compositions, I'll use Evil, and goes on with smash after smash, by the men with golden guitars. For some unexplained reason, this gem never got re-released and physical copies of it seem to be rare (the only one I've found on ebay costs 40 british pounds), so, download it and enjoy this time-forgotten wonder.

The Monomen - Bent Pages

Coletânea lançada em 1993 pela Estrus (selo lendário, de propriedade dos membros da banda) com singles e lados b. O material desse álbum é um um pouco mais tosco que os discos de estúdio, mas ainda vale muito a pena, especialmente pelo cover de uma das músicas do mestre Childish que eu mais curto, Lie Detector, e pelas originais, como Burning Bush e Watch Outside.

Compilation released in 1993 (legendary label, owned by the band members) comprised of singles and b-sides. This album's material is rawer than the studio albums, but the download is still worth, specially for the cover of one of my favourite B. Childish songs, Lie Detector, and originals as Burning Bush and Watch Outside

Mais uma gema da delta do rio Medway, esse disco parece o filho dos Prisoners e sua viagem pela swinging London com os Headcoats e sua crueza. Não achei muita informação sobre a banda além das que estão na partee de trás da capa do vinil (incluída no zip), mas o download desse disco é altamente necessário, em minha humilde opinião.

Anoter Medway delta gem, this album looks like the son of the Prisoners and their swinging London trip with the Headcoats raw garage punk. I haven't found too much info about the band besides the one on the counter-sleeve of the album (included on the zip), but the download of that album is higlhy neccessary, in my humble opinion.

The Squares - Tribute to the Medway Scene

Não achei muita informação sobre a banda, sei que eles são franceses, seguidores fiéis de Billy 'Deus' Childish e outras bandas de Medway (dá pra perceber pelo nome, hurr durr durr), chegando a lançar discos pela Hangman Records (gravadora do Childish). Não sei quando a banda acabou também, sei que o baterista, Ollie Dollot, chegou a tocar bateria pros Headcoats por um tempo e que eles apareceram em algumas coletâneas francesas do fim dos anos 80/começo dos 90. Altamente recomendável (e relativamente desconhecido, se isso significa alguma coisa pra você).

I haven't found too many info about the band, though I know they're french, loyal followers of Billy 'God' Childish and other Medway delta bands (that's kinda obvious, just look at the album's title hurr durr durr). They even released some stuff through Hangman Records (Childish's old label). I don't know when they started or broke up, but I know that Ollie Dollot (the drummer) went to play with thee Headcoats for some time and that they appeared in a few french comps from the early 80s/late 90s. Extremely recommendable (and kinda unknown, if that means something to you)
