The Mummies - Play their Own Records

Se você ainda não ouviu os Mummies, eu só posso te dar meus pêsames. Banda californiana formada no fim dos anos 80, influenciada pelos Sonics, Link Wray e várias outras bandas dos anos 50 e 60 (como é de se esperar), além de bandas mais contemporâneas (deles), principalmente os Mighty Caesars. Os caras tocavam com instrumentos de segunda mão, muitas vezes desafinados, em estúdios baratíssimos, chamando o próprio som de Budget Rock, além de insultar tudo e todos e tocarem enrolados em papel higiênico e esparadrapos. Toda a tosquice e selvageria da banda obviamente é refletida no som também, citada por Billy Childish como a única banda de garage que ele realmente amou. Esse disco é de 1992 e contém principalmente originais, além de 3 covers dos Wailers (os de Seattle, não os da Jamaica).
